The lantern is very bright and long lasting. It takes 3 D batteries that it does not come with. I had to hunt for batteries bc i dont usually use d's but sense this uses LED lights I was happy to do so. The LED lights use way less power so the batteries work longer. So instead of 1 day worth of charge you may be able to get 6 days. This lantern is very well made up and will dont break easy it is water resisted so it is perfect for you next camping trip. I loved it.
